Last week I wrote a post asking what you want to do with the rest of your life, what’s on your bucket list. The next day, one of my friends showed me the series My Last Days filmed by SoulPancake. SoulPancake has “embarked on the production of a courageous, controversial and uplifting series that will tackle the issue of death head on by interviewing people of all ages who have been informed that they are living their last days.”

Currently there are four episodes of people at varying ages diagnosed with terminal illnesses. All four episodes are heart wrenching. The lighting and cinematography pull you in, but you stay to hear the inspiring stories of those staying positive even in the most difficult times.

Christopher Aiff did nine cycles of chemotherapy to rid himself of Osteosarcoma. He was told that he was cancer free but a few months later, they found 50 tumors on his lungs. He is 21 years old. With the amount of time being unsure he decided to live out his bucket list with his sister.

Christopher seems to have such a positive outlook on his life. He is a year younger than me, but he is acting way beyond his age. He’s realized what he wants to do with his little time left, and he is doing whatever it takes to make that happen. It’s hard to see the price people have to pay to live, but it is so admirable and inspiring to hear the unique stories of what people choose to do with their time left.

If you have a story, SoulPancake is looking for men and women ages 1to 100 who are battling terminal illnesses and have been given a specific number of weeks or months to live. “ We want to give these people an opportunity to share their lives with the world. We believe that their stories of courage, hope and determination can inspire others to re-examine the way they are living.”  If you have any questions or wish to submit potential people to feature on the show, please contact: mylastdays@soulpancake.com.
